Early in its existence the IBHF experimented with a concept labelled, "LOCAL BUSINESS HERITAGES". The idea was to ask local chambers of commerce to identify a small number of local businesses which represented the strengths of the local business community. The IBHF would then put together profiles of those businesses and present their stories in the local high school. Two such projects were completed, one in Aurora and one in Quincy.
